A few ground rules.
These terms apply to using the Subtitle Studio website and its browser tools.
Effective October 12, 2026
Your files and rights
You retain rights to your own video and subtitle content. Use the tools only with files you own or have permission to process. You are responsible for the accuracy, permissions and suitability of captions you publish.
What the tools provide
Subtitle Studio provides manual subtitle editing, local video preview, timing adjustment, validation and subtitle export. It does not provide automatic translation, speech recognition, a video rendering service or a guarantee that a particular platform will accept your exported file. Preview styling is not burned into the video.
Keep a backup
Local drafts are stored in your browser. Browser limits, private mode, clearing site data or storage failures can remove them. Download a project backup and keep original files. We cannot recover files or drafts from our servers because they are not uploaded.
Responsible use
Do not misuse the website, interfere with its operation or use it to process or distribute unlawful material. Do not attempt to gain access to another person’s data or disrupt the hosting service.
Availability and limitations
The tools are provided as available. Video compatibility depends on browser codecs and your device. Quality checks are editorial aids, not a substitute for reviewing the finished subtitles. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not promise uninterrupted operation or error-free output. These terms do not limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes and contact
Features, supported formats and limits may change. Material changes to these terms will be reflected in the effective date. Questions can be sent to xtladf8@gmail.com.
